NPC Inter Final
Dharan-Nepal Police Club (NPC) reached the final of 12th Budha Subba Gold Cup Football Tournament being held in proposed Eastern Stadium Thursday.
NPC defeated Himalayan Sherpa Club, Kathmandu 2-0. NPC will now take on Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) in the final slated for Saturday. It would be the second successive title match for the departmental team of Nepal Police, who went to Dharan from Pokhara after winning the eighth Aaha Gold Cup Football Tournament on February 6. NPC took a 1-0 lead in the first half through a goal from Roshan, who doubled the lead in the 52nd minute following a cross from Bhola Silwal.
The losing team enjoyed a better possession in the match and missed almost half-a-dozen goal scoring opportunities. The Himalayan Sherpa Club’s man of the match Bharat Khawas made as many as six attacks on NPC post but custodian Ritesh Thapa stood firm.
